Your Iceland Itinerary
Day 1 — Overnight flight to Reykjavik
Your first day is spent flying to your tour location.
Day 2 — Arrival in Reykjavik
Arrive in the capital city. Get to know fellow travelers over an Icelandic lunch, then join a local expert for a walking tour of the Old City — city hall, the harbor, Parliament, and the 1796 cathedral — before checking into your hotel.
Day 3 — The Golden Circle
Marvel at the double-cascade Gullfoss waterfall, the explosive Geysir thermal area, and Thingvellir National Park atop the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. Stop at a family-run dairy farm for cheese and ice cream, then visit Friðheimar’s geothermal greenhouses and stud farm.
Day 4 — Reykjavík → Akranes → Reykholt
Explore the western coastline and the fishing town of Akranes, home to one of Iceland’s most photographed lighthouses. Continue to Deildartunguhver, Europe’s highest-flowing hot spring, and Barnafoss (“the Children’s Falls”) before arriving in Reykholt.
Day 5 — Reykholt → Ólafsvík → Reykholt
Explore the fishing town of Ólafsvík, then join a whale-watching cruise in Breiðafjördur Bay. Take in Mount Kirkjufell — one of Iceland’s most photographed landscapes — and the Kirkjufellsfoss waterfalls.
Day 6 — Reykholt → Vík
Visit Hellisheiðavirkjun, one of the world’s largest geothermal power stations, and the Lava Exhibition Center. See Seljalandsfoss, where you can walk behind the falling water, before arriving in Vík, Iceland’s southernmost village.
Day 7 — Vík → Reynisfjara → Vík
Visit the Skógar Museum and nearby Skógafoss waterfall. See Reynisfjara’s black sand beach and basalt cliffs, keep an eye out for nesting puffins at Dyrhólaey, and end the day at Sólheimajökull Glacier.
Day 8 — Vík → Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon → Vík
Journey through Vatnajökull National Park, watch for seals at Jökulsárlón, and join a zodiac tour among the icebergs of Fjallsárlón — including a taste of 1,000-year-old glacial ice.
Day 9 — Return to Reykjavík
Learn traditional Icelandic wool-dyeing techniques, then unwind at the Sky Lagoon’s geothermal waters. Close the trip with a farewell dinner among fellow travelers.
Day 10 — Tour Ends
Depart for home with memories of your Icelandic adventure.
