Sober-Friendly Travel FAQs

Have questions about sober travel, our hosted journeys, or what to expect when you travel with Sober Girl Travels? Here are some of the questions we hear most often.

Are Sober Girl Travels trips completely alcohol-free?

Sober Girl Travels journeys are sober-friendly rather than necessarily alcohol-free. You’ll never be pressured to drink, but some destinations and travel environments, including resorts, cruises, and other group settings, may serve alcohol. Our community culture is centered on clarity, presence, connection, and enjoying the journey without alcohol.

Do I need to be sober or in recovery to join?

Not at all. Sober Girl Travels welcomes people who want to experience travel without alcohol, including sober-curious travelers, people living alcohol-free, and anyone taking a break from drinking.

Are Sober Girl Travels trips only for women?

Some journeys are women-only, while others are open to all genders. Each hosted or featured journey clearly identifies who it is designed for, so you can choose a trip that fits you.

Are 12-step meetings included on your trips?

12-step meetings are not hosted as part of our standard itineraries. However, some destinations, hotels, resorts, or cruise ships may offer access to nearby or onboard meetings when available.

Can I join a sober-friendly group trip if I’m traveling alone?

Absolutely. Many travelers join our journeys on their own. Group travel creates opportunities to connect with other travelers, share experiences, and build new friendships while exploring somewhere new.

What makes Sober Girl Travels different?

Sober Girl Travels focuses on creating travel experiences where alcohol doesn’t have to be the center of the adventure. Our hosted journeys are designed around connection, exploration, clarity, and being present for the places and people you encounter along the way.
